MILANO AND LEONARDO: MAY 2019 – JANUARY 2020
THE CITY CELEBRATES THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF THE GREAT MASTER LEONARDO DA VINCI (1519-2019)
Milan dedicates 9 months of interesting initiatives to the 500th anniversary of the demise of the greatest eclectic genius of all times: Leonardo da Vinci lived in the city while staying at the Sforza’s court at the end of the XV century. Evidence of his life in Milan are countless: the navigation system of the Lombard Navigli, the Last Supper at Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Portrait of a Musician at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Sala delle Asse at Castello Sforzesco which will open up restored exactly 500 years after his death, i.e. May 2nd 2019.
On top of all these you will find many more artistic, cultural and scientific project scattered around the city.
